Bill Cosby named NAACP Hall of Fame inductee

Comedian joins illustrious group

Bill Cosby will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame. The award will be presented during the 38th NAACP Image Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Friday, March 2, 2007.

Previous recipients of the award include Oprah Winfrey, Carlos Santana, Sidney Poitier, Kathleen Battle, Little Richard and Spike Lee.

Cosby has previously won two NAACP Image Awards, one for Outstanding Performance in a Youth or Children's Series/Special for "Little Bill" and the other for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series for "The Cosby Show."

Among other awards Cosby has received are the Presidential Medal of Freedom, Kennedy Center Honors, 9 Grammys, 3 Golden Globe awards, 5 Emmy awards and the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
