PHOTOS: Squandered Oscars

OK, so you just won the Oscar, and the dark and turbulent waters of Hollywood have parted, for a few moments anyway, to give you the cream of the crop of acting choices. How do you handle the moment? Some use their Oscar glory to break into the Hollywood stratosphere and never look back. For others, well, let's just say they hit the jackpot once and have had a hard time getting lucky again.
Take Adrien Brody. His impromptu kiss with presenter Halle Berry was definitely the highlight of the young actor's 2002 Oscar triumph. But after that the star of "The Pianist" has appeared in a series of little-seen or disappointing projects. Peter Jackson's "King Kong" probably looked better on paper than it played in theaters. And now comes word that Brody's set to fill the shoes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover by appearing in a reboot of the "Predator" franchise. An actor toils to reach the heights of his craft so he can one day slaughter blood-thirsty aliens?
What would Olivier say, Adrien?
But he's not alone. There have been many actors and actresses whose Oscar glory has failed to take them to the next level.
