11.
I have moved to Florida and trust the Times to bring me news and features on-line. I never see anything about Acton, Palmdale or Lancaster. I miss my friends of 43 years in Southern California. I am not sure that thiis has been the best move in my life but some of my grandchildren are hear.
Thank you,
Kathryn Berry

12. As religious organizations began to back away from running hospitals and other helath care facilities (Nuns began to have a median age of 75); the health insurance carriers began to turn them self into profit making corporations with the administgrative cost rising from 10% to 20% to 35% (really 40%). This ment smaller amounts were going to pay for actual medical care. This led to the financial colapse of the hospitals and the need for doctors to become specialist. (Readers Digest). What is sucking the blood out of health care is not the care of the ill, but, rather the care of those running the system. Submitted by: Health Care in California
13. Barstow, CA. Upon recently visiting Barstow, I was surprised at how my memory of a quaint desert town with a buzzing downtown main street couldn’t be found. I could not recognize the Barstow of today compared with my old photos from the 40's-50’s. The once thriving downtown has been reduced to shuttered businesses and lonely sidewalks. One store that had gone under doubled as a tax preparing agency and an antique store. Today the new development in Barstow sprawls away from town, where big box outlet malls and stucco housing tracts reclaim arid desert land. I'd love to see something about the transformation of Barstow and its future. Submitted by: Amin Eshaker
14. You don't need local gov't intervention in Delano, CA. You just need a "Brave One" See the movie Submitted by: Neil Horlock
15. Delano, CA. I often wonder how this small farm town has become a safe haven for gang leaders and their destruction. Don't get me wrong, I know there are many non gang members left in Delano, but how long will they keep their families there when everyday more and more are killed and corrupted by these gangs. More importantly, I want to know what the local government is doing to cut down on gang activity in and around Delano. Submitted by: Mary Beth Myers

19. LA Times should investigate everything wrong in LA. The leaders who think for themselves and not the people. Why leaders are approving more housing projects even though we have a traffic problem, Hello? Why we are in a financial crisis when leaders are getting raises. Why we use tax dollars to escort celebs. Why isn't LA the LA leaders wanted it to be. Also, investigate all the lies that our leaders said they would do and have not done. There's so much more, but I wont overwork you. Thanks, and keep up the good work, Times. Submitted by: Wake up people
20. The LAUSD has gone from worst to pathetic. I think LA Times should go in to the schools and ask teachers who have been there for many years and find out what the real problem is. The district is depending on the structure of someone who has probably never even taught in a class before. Our future is depending on experiments and theoretical concepts. There is too much preaching about wanting to send our kids to college but the tools they will need to succeed are not being provided. LA Times should step in and take a peak at what is really going on so that the reast of us know what we can do to fix it. Submitted by: Always Concerned
