2008 Cannes Film Festival
By Sheigh Crabtree, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

Although American films by big-name Hollywood directors may not dominate the lineup at this year's Festival de Cannes, the 61st edition promises to offer a healthy dose of global glitz and glamour on the Croisette, which runs May 14-25.

The Hollywood contingency this year will be represented by Steven Spielberg, Clint Eastwood and Steven Soderbergh in addition to New Yorker Woody Allen. The festival has also invited DreamWorks' CG animated "Kung Fu Panda," directed by Mark Osborne and John Stevenson.

Here we offer a sneak peek at some of the more anticipated films in this year's lineup.
