1. I actually give my senior goverment students Mr. Stein's columns. His column on Caucuses is the class favorite. We actually discussed legalization of marijuana here in Ohio thank to his medical marijuana article. Without paparazzi we do not have celebrities, we have actors and actresses. For every paparazzi actors probably make another percent income because people know who they are. Mr. Stein has hired his own paparazzi and he would continue to do so if it got him a sitcom deal.

2. To avoid paps, basically just get up at dawn and finish shopping before anyone else but tourists and old people are out on the streets; do the same with when you eat, spend the rest of the night at home washing your hair with a good book; and don't do either except either East of LaBrea or West of Sepulveda, that means, in Siberia. Get a GPS to the Valley and your Wal-Mart and K-Mart Megastores, then buy somethng crappy you'll wear every day. Finally if all that doesn't gross out your fans, hire lots of private security so the Paps can own the streets in prime time and locale.

3. I always thought if people really wanted to not be recognized they should wear a burka. Probably the best tip for not being photographed is to live where there aren't any paparazzi...like, not southern California or NYC.

4. Omg, totally off topic, but I just want to commend Joel Stein for being such an awesome writer. Before my summer reading assignments for english 11ap, I didn't really care for newspapers, but now every Friday I look forward to Stein's new article. (By the way, Mr. Stein, english teacheers at CHHS make us read your writing.) And yes, I know my writing mirrors a valley girl rather than a polished A.P. student. As for the article, paparazzi stink. Not that I have had any experience with it, but honestly do these people have lives?
