1. Sol is an inspiration. I've had the pleasure of knowing him for a long time (a blip for him), and even though I am over 50 years his junior, I have profound respect and admiration for him. He's as interesting and admirable as the article paints. Bravo Sol!

5. Indeed an uplifting story1 I wallk ten acres around my home and also ride a stationary bike and exercise with a machine weight-system. This has brought down my weight and help fight my diabetes. All this helps my being ebullient that I am a happy neurotic depressive!

8. I hike in Griffith Park every morning and it always makes my day when I see Sol on the trails. He is friendly, funny, interesting, and inspiring. When I am his age I hope not only to be as active as he is, but that I am deserving of as many friends and admirers as Sol has attracted.

9. What a lovely tribute to a wonderful man. My father Henry Florsheim worked for Shank for many years. I remember fondly the times that I was allowed to wash test tubes during summer vacations, up the stairs, at Shankman Labs. Apparently his voice has stayed the same after all these years. Thanks, Shank for all you mean to our family.
