Sneak peek: 'Valkyrie'

Tom Cruise (left) stars in "Valkyrie," based on the story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg who devised a plot to assassinate Hitler.

Director Bryan Singer (right) ("The Usual Suspects") re-teamed with Academy Award-winning "Suspects" screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie to bring the story to the screen.

The period thriller also stars Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Eddie Izzard and Terence Stamp. MGM Studios currently plans to open the movie wide on Dec. 26.
