Bio:
The son of Children of God missionaries (along with four siblings), Joaquin "Leaf" Phoenix first landed work on his brother River's TV series "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" in 1982. After a series of kid roles, Phoenix broke out in a big way with his performance as the cruel and insane Roman Emperor Commodus in the Oscar-winning Best Picture, "Gladiator."
