FACT SHEET

Fact sheet: Viggo Mortensen

Film: "A History of Violence"

Born: Oct. 20, 1958 (New York)

Bio:
Since making his screen debut in "Witness" as the jealous Amish suitor to rival Harrison Ford, Viggo Mortensen has made his presence felt in a variety of movies, from well-received indies ("A Walk on the Moon," "Albino Alligator") to mainstream misfires (the remake of "Psycho"). But the hunky actor, born to a Danish dad and American mom, made his strongest mark as the heroic Aragorn in Peter Jackson's Academy Award-winning "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
