Film: "The Producers"
Born: March 21, 1962 (New York, N.Y.)
Bio:
Wonderfully adept at playing nerdy teens and adults, Matthew Broderick has made a cottage industry out of portraying various forms of mild dysfunction on stage and screen. Broderick first gained acclaim as playwright Neil Simon's alter-ego in the biographical Broadway play, "Brighton Beach Memoirs." A showy screen turn as a dorky science whiz in "WarGames" was followed by a starring role in the cult-hit comedy "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." In recent years, Broderick has oscillated between stage roles on Broadway and movie roles. Other key films include: "Glory," "The Freshman" and "Election."
