"Knocked Up" screenwriter Judd Apatow thanked Sean Penn at the Behind the Camera awards in Hollywood on Sunday night.

"He's the innovator. If you've seen (Apatow's films) you know who we were stealing it from: Spicoli! All we've done is follow his example. Whenever we get stuck, it's time to go back to 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High.' "
