Martha Byrne, 'As the World Turns'
Martha Byrne has played the role of Lily (Walsh) Snyder on "As the World Turns" since 1985, though she was replaced by Heather Rattray from 1989-1993. She also played Lily's long-lost twin Rose D'Angelo from 2000-2003. It was during her portrayal of the very different twins that Byrne won an Emmy as best lead actress in 2001. She had previously won in the ingenue category in 1987. She also received lead-actress nominations in 2002 and 2005.

Byrne has brought a realness to the "spoiled little rich girl" turned mature, loving, wife and mother. Pair that up with the fabulous work she did as over the top Jersey showgirl Rose, and you can see why she is truly worthy of being an emmy winner.
