The 1989 Best Actor winner (“My Left Foot”) might add another Best Actor trophy to his cabinet for his performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s epic adaptation of Upton Sinclair's novel “Oil” as a wildcatter in turn-of-the-century Texas who strikes it rich.
