Season of upsets
By Sheigh Crabtree, Jevon Phillips and Rebecca Snavely, The Envelope

Who opened the can of whup-[***] on conventional wisdom? The Patriots were undefeated going into the Super Bowl, but the Giants and Eli Manning suited up anyway. Kanye West and Amy Winehouse dominated the betting sheets going into the Grammys; Herbie Hancock supposedly was just an an also-ran. Going into primary season, pundits practically bequeathed the Democratic nomination to Hillary Rodham Clinton, but now Barack Obama has won 11 straight contests. Even canines couldn't catch a break when poodles and spaniels, traditionally top dogs at Westminister, were beaten out by a 15" tall beagle whose Vegas odds were 400-1.

Could the Oscars, the Super Bowl of awards shows, cause collective gasps in the Kodak Theatre?

Take a look at the locks and see for yourself.
