Once again, a number of awards hopefuls debuted at the Telluride and Toronto international film festivals this year.
Fox Searchlight swooped in on Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire" out of Telluride. The pick up was quickly followed by Searchlight's acquisition of Mickey Rourke's comeback picture "The Wrestler."
As the 2009 season begins to quickly take shape, we thought it the perfect time to consider who may be walking the Oscar red carpet on the way into Hollywood's Kodak Theatre (pictured) next year.
Lots of Oscar favorites will be back in the mix in theaters in '08-09, from Angelina Jolie and Clint Eastwood, to an onscreen reunion of "Titanic" lovers Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio in Sam Mendes' "Revolutionary Road," to Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, and Keira Knightley.
