Miley Cyrus
With her popular TV show, mega-selling concert tours and the recent surprisingly successful limited-release movie, there is no denying that Miley Cyrus is one of the biggest stars of the moment.

The catch, presumably, is that her audience is almost entirely pre-adolescent girls. Whether that is the same crowd who digs on “Atonement” and “No Country For Old Men” probably isn’t hard to suss out, but they are the likely Oscar-watchers of the future. So why not hook them early? And, as has been noted elsewhere, it probably doesn’t hurt that Cyrus is part of the Disney family of media commodities of which ABC, who broadcasts the Oscars, is also a part. When in doubt, follow the money.
