'Monsoon' (Silver winner, Achievements in Directing and Editing)
Writer-director Shyam Balse's 20-minute short film, photographed on location in Mumbai, India, focuses on a young cardiologist based in California who must return home to care for his ill father. Balse's film not only won First Look 2.0's second place prize and the awards for directing and editing (Tom Gould), but has picked up a slew of awards on the festival circuit -- from Jackson Hole to Maui.
