How to dress like a Daytime diva

Do the Oscars need a dash of daytime trash?

Even though the Daytime Emmys will be held on June 15 at the Kodak Theatre -- the site of the Academy Awards -- don't think that the gowns, hair and accessories will remotely resemble Oscar fashions.

Think of the Oscars as your wedding day.

Think of the Daytime Emmys as your wedding day in Vegas.

The daytime stars have not yet succumbed to the 10 grand personal stylist, the one-of-a-kind haute couture gowns from Chanel, Armani, or Dior, the exclusive beauty and hair teams that make sure everything is perfect on Oscar day.

Frankly, that's fine with me.

I don't know about you but I just can't get enough of the train wrecks that go careening down the Daytime Emmy carpet every year. Why? Because it's all real, not safely selected by PR agents or snooty stylists.

These daytime dames can and do make mistakes, sometimes small, sometimes gloriously horrendous mistakes, just like we all do when we get ourselves dressed for a big event.

I can totally relate to these women's fashion foibles; the wrong shoes, oodles of jewels, way too much skin, big, over teased hair. I love it all! The Oscars could use some of this tacky tawdry reality.
